Visa Information
All people except Australian or New Zealand citizens are required to obtain a visa before coming to Australia. The type of visa depends on which nationality you are. The following visa subclasses are recommended.
eVisitor visa
(subclass 651)
If you are a citizen of and holding a valid passport from one of the following countries, you can apply for an eVisitor visa.

You cannot apply with:
- a non-citizen passport, certificate of identity or other travel document including a Titre de Voyage, OR
- a British National Overseas, British Dependent Territories Citizen, British Overseas Citizen, British Protected Person or British Subject passport
Applying for a subclass 651 visa is free. 90% of this type of visa applications are processed in less than 1 day. You are not required to have an invitation letter from us, nor registration details for the conference, in order to apply for this visa.
Electronic Travel Authority (ETA)
(subclass 601)
If you are holding a valid passport from one of these countries or jurisdictions, you are eligible for an Electronic Travel Authority (ETA). You cannot apply for an ETA with a non-citizen passport, certificate of identity, or other travel document such as a Titre de Voyage.

The application fee for an ETA is A$20. You must download the Australian ETA application to apply. In most cases you will be notified of the result of your ETA application immediately. You are not required to have an invitation letter from us, nor registration details for the conference, in order to apply for this visa.
Note that some European passport holders may be also eligible for an eVisitor visa (subclass 651), which is free of charge and described above.
Visitor visa - business visitor stream
(subclass 600)
For all other passport holders, you may apply for a visitor visa (business visitor stream). You must obtain an invitation letter from us, together with your completed conference registration details before applying this visa. There are also some additional eligibility requirements. The application fee for this type of visitor visa is A$200. 90% of this type of visa applications are processed in less than 20 days.
Conference registration will be opened in the middle of August. The process of obtaining an invitation letter will also be opened immediately after the opening of the registration.
We strongly recommend that those who may need to apply for this visa (subclass 600) complete the registration process and obtain the invitation letter as soon as possible. Please do it no later than September. The risk will become higher for not getting the visa approved in time if you apply later than September.
